//You decide what we talk about at Engage

On the 15th of Februrary you will determine what we talk about for the morning at Engage.  We believe that asking big, fat, crazy, out there questions is one of the best ways we can pursue a life of faith.  It doesn’t take too long when reading the bible before you find some body asking some pretty in your face questions of God.  Like Job. Pronounced J-long O-B.  So this guy had tons of questions for God…tons.  He said, “Why is life given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in?” Job chapter 3:23.  Or one of the other great questioners in the bible was David in the Psalms.  He said in Psalms 13, “How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?” Or my personal favorite, “O Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my life from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.” Psalms 35.

So today at Engage we asked people to submit some questions for some of us to tackle on Feb. 15th.  Here are a few of the questions.

1. Are we supposed to try to live our lives perfectly, without sin? Because if its that way, it seems like you’ll never be able to live..
2. What do you do with hell? How could a good God create that?
3. I think Jesus may have been a good person and great teacher, but I’m not sure that I buy the notion that he was this all-knowing / all-powerful God / man creator of the universe. Why does religion force the theory..can’t I just keep my perspective on Jesus?
4. If God is all-knowing, why do we need to pray?

These are just a few questions we will be having conversation about on the 15th.  Please submit your questions my clicking on “comment” below.  We would love to know what’s on your mind? It’s your turn to decide what we talk about at Engage!!!
