What effects of sin and brokenness do you see in the world? In your own life?
Sin is our human inability to be what God desires for us to be, our failure to fulfill God’s intention for us as his creation. The more we get to know God the more we begin to see areas of our lives where we fail to live out God’s good, creative, and loving intentions for us. Sin is like a virus that rips apart relationships, hurts others, and brings subtle and obvious destruction to our lives and the world.
There is no human antidote for the virus of sin, not being moral, not self-discipline, not religious behaviors…nothing.
Take-away question: What do you think it means that Jesus is the antidote to the virus of sin?
