One month ago yesterday close to 60 adults met at the Ribbon Mill for EnVision Engage 2011. We asked you to share your thoughts, insight, feedback, dreams, and ideas for Engage in Year Three. For a list of all the ideas that night visit the Season of Growth Page on the website. Here are just a few of the things you said:
Vision Input: Excited to see shared passions gel and impact
- On March 6th we are having a Connection Luncheon for all the College Students at Engage. There we will be seeking to discern why they are coming to Engage and sharing how they can actively Engage in the mission and vision of our church.
Vision Input: Separate benevolence fund for people who have immediate needs
- Two Sundays ago we started a “benevolence basket” for people to give to and take from in order to provide immediate needs for those in need.
Vision Input: Begin using the “Living Room” analogy to describe Sundays Mornings, rather than “Front Porch”
- We are now calling Sunday Mornings the Living Room. The Living Room is where someone outside of faith can observe our family in action and decide if they want to join God’s family at Engage. This gives us greater freedom to be fully ourselves while remaining open and sensitive to those skeptical and exploring faith at Engage.
Vision Input: More themed / focused bible groups
- In April we are starting a 4 session group called Next Level. This group will spend time exploring the Epistles looking at the Apostle Paul’s ministry. Our hope is to use this group to hone our gifts, deepen our faith, and expand our influence and impact on behalf of Jesus Christ.
Thanks for your continued prayers, interest, and shaping ideas. We are making progress!
