Engage is throwing a party for our community! October 16th Engage is hosting Carlisle Greenfest. Greenfest is a one-day event bringing together passionate individuals, non-profits, educational institutions, governmental initiatives, and businesses to showcase their environmentally friendly product or service in a festival-like atmosphere. Greefest is one way Engage Church can show extravagant love to our community. This one-day festival will bring together the community while promoting the importance of our God-given mandate to care for our planet.
We love this community! From the beginning Engage Church has had a vision of being used by God to bring spiritual, economic, and social renewal to the community God has placed us in. Greenfest is one way our whole Church can together show our community God’s love. What if everyone at Engage caught a vision of serving our community together in this way? Imagine what part you could play!
Ways to engage with Greenfest: Pray, Invite, Volunteer.
1. Pray. Please pray for the Greenfest’s organizing team as they approach the finish line leading up to October 16th. Please pray that the whole Engage Community would catch a vision for sharing God’s blessings with the community in this tangible way.
2. Spread the word and invite others. There are many people in your life who simply aren’t going to come to Engage Church. They would, however, come to a fun-filled, day-long festival with live music, interesting exhibits, great food, and fun for the whole family. Please invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to come to Greenfest and make a connection with Engage Church.
Ideas for inviting people.
· Take 10 minutes. Send people an email with a link to the Greenfest website. www.carlislegreenfest.com Tell them you will go with them to Greenfest.
· Take 20 minutes. Create an Evite and send it to your friends with information about Greenfest. Use the first paragraph description on the Greenfest website to describe this event and invite them to join you.
· Sign up at the Greenfest table on Sunday at Engage to receive the Greenfest email promo and forward it to your friends and coworkers.
· Take a Greenfest bumper sticker and place it on your fridge at home so you can be reminded to talk about Greenfest with your friends and pray that God would use Engage that day to show extravagant love to our community.
3. Volunteer. There are a variety of ways to volunteer. Volunteer as a family, volunteer for set up or tear down. Parking lot attending, picking up trash, welcoming people at the Engage tent, and serving food are just a few of the ways you can serve the community in a tangible way. Sign up at the Greenfest sign up table or email your request to Greenfest Team
Invite your community minded friends and family to volunteer with you and serve the community together. People will often respond to being needed than doing something just for themselves.
